{Harper} Participating in her transition to Preschool session.

Walking hand in hand down to her soon to be new school, she skipped along and chatted about what she may choose to do during today's session.
Me: Harps, can you believe that next year you will be going to Finny's school? It will be 'Finny and Harper's school' next year.

H: I know!

Me: Are you feeling ready for Preschool?
 H: So ready.

 {Finn} Those eyes.

{Quickly becoming a seasoned fete go-er}
{fete #2 for the weekend.}
{writing her name for the first time. Up until now she has shown no interest ("you write it Mummy") even though I was sure she could do it. Like every skill/transition she has reached, she does it when she is ready.}
{bubble painting}
{our cherry tree is producing these glossy red babies.}
{I was lucky enough to spend two relaxing days away at the beach with two girlfriends. I am so grateful for the opportunity to re-boot and re-focus, to chat with like-minded souls, to feel inspired by their ideas, to be nature and with myself. }
{Oh, and my girlfriends' craftiness rubbed off on me while we were away, and I made these Steiner felt play dolls.

39/52

{Harper} Ready to roll down a hill at the National Aboretum. Finn was keen to give it a go but stopped just after getting himself into the starting position. Commenting as he stood up "I don't want to get grass clippings on my clothes." Fair enough.

{Finn} This week families and friends were invited into Finn's Pre-school. Earlier in the week we told Finn that both myself, Harper and his Daddy were coming along. As the days went on he kept asking "Are you all really coming?" He couldn't quite believe everyone would be there for him. Finn proudly guided us around his indoor and outdoor learning spaces and we engaged in play with him as he talked through what he has been learning about at school.

{Harper does appear to be looking a little bored here, but this is actually her "listening face"}
{from birth one of Harper's nicknames has been "koala bear" as she has always loved snuggling in tight and being carried by either myself or her Dad. Approaching four years old she hasn't lost this love of being close and snuggly}
{Harper has quickly learnt that if you help with baking you get some post baking perks}
{our nephew reached an important birthday milestone}
{our lovely friend Jess, who also has a son called Finn, handed this shirt down to my Finn}

A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013
{inspired by Jodi}

{Harper} Eyelashes that almost touch her eyebrows.
{Finn} Sending my first-born off to Pre-school. He was happy, confident and ready for new adventures.

{an early morning backyard find}
{"I brushed my curls Mum"}
{Collecting produce from our garden. So very satisfying}
{a new book tradition begins. Finn & Harper were both gifted a school themed book the day before they began Preschool and Playschool. At the beginning of each school year I plan to record a message to them inside each book}
{Ten minutes until the first day starts. Waiting patiently, with a touch of nerves.}
{Connecting with one of the school displays}
{Finn was quick to engage with the table activities. Little sis joined in too. Of coarse.}
{Harper's turn. Starting Playschool. I believe she was clicking her fingers here and saying "hurry up Mum". After seeing her big brother go through two years at the same Playschool she was BEYOND ready to start}
{ice-cream is always better with sprinkles}
{Two full days of Pre-school equals one very tired boy}
{after a week where a great deal of energy and attention was directed towards Finn, Harper was due some quality one on one Mumma time. By chance, the night before I found out that 'Aladdin' was screening at our local cinema. So with every Princess item from the dress up box on, we headed off for Harper's first movie experience. Harper's verdict "It was good. It was a bit sad, a bit funny and also a bit scary"}
