Documenting Delight: one hundred and twenty six {mini-construction workers}

What do you do to make your construction-obsessed child’s week, no wait, year? You take them along to the hard rock quarry their Uncle works at. Expertly organised by their Uncle, this on site visit for Finn and Harper and their cousins was jam-packed with hands on experiences and a few surprises. As we were driving to the site we told Finn that he would be seeing some vehicles in action but he didn’t know that he would be getting the chance to sit inside a few and operate them too. Our boy who usually doesn’t stop talking, was silenced by the excitement of it all. This was our day. Full of dirt, noise and Finn’s dreams coming true.

{driving towards the site. So. much. anticipation.}

{touring the site}
{ready for work!}

{feeling at home in the driver's cab}

{in disbelief. did I really just do that?}

  1. OMG his face in the second shot. I almost expected to see him explode with happy! Wonderful! Isn't it awesome when you can do something for them which just makes their week. When Cody is overwhelmed with happy she does a little squeak and pulls her hands up under her chin - I'm sure Finn was doing his equivalent of happy all day.

  3. All of these photos are fantastic. I especially like the one of Finn sitting in the driver's cab. That grin and the way he is holding his hat are just too cute!

    1. I LOVED seeing his reaction. Infact Lach offered to take the kids on his own so I could have a Mumma day but I had to say no. How could I miss seeing him soak all of this up?
      No, not in Canberra. About an 1hr north of here.
