  1. I guess Christmas trees go up earlier, though? Ours just went up the other day too. Great capture of Finn placing the star on top.

    1. Yep, In Australia most people pop their tree up on Dec 1. Seeing that it is Harper's birthday on Dec 1, our family puts it up on Dec 2 :)
From your photos (and what I have seen in the media) I think Americans get more into Christmas lights than in Australia.

  2. Beautiful photos Amber. I love that you kept it simple with the B&W, feels more traditional somehow even though the Christmas tree is usually all about colour!

    1. It was so dark in the lounge room while we were decorating the tree (an overcast day). I think these were taken at about 1000 ISO - eeek! The grain looked pretty horrid in colour but of coarse B & W does it magic and the grain somehow seems to work! Oh what would I do without B&W conversions :P

  3. oh amber - these are so stunning and yes have this beautiful classical feel. I love how you frame the photos to focus on the kids, it really captures their emotions and experience in an amazing way. the last shot of finn placing the star... wow!!!! :) and love it in B&W too.

    1. Thanks Kate! I was really concious of not spending the whole time snapping away, so there were some other lovely moments that didn't get photographed. Sometimes just watching their expressions over watching it through a lens is so much more fun. Finn in particular was so excited and was concentrating so hard on gently placing his chosen decorations on the tree :)
